Four alleged terrorists arrested in Karachi

The suspects claimed to be members of a political party, and have been involved in at least five cases of murders of rival parties.

Islamabad — Karachi police have claimed to have arrested four members of a political party suspected to be involved in cases of target killings of political rivals, along with other crimes.

Superintendent Police Saddar division Raeed Abdul Ghani during a Press conference held at the Preedy police station on Sunday disclosed that the arrests were made during snap checking in the area.

He said the suspects claimed to be members of a political party, and have been involved in at least five cases of murders of rival parties — the Sunni Tehreek, the Punjabi Pakhtun Ittehad and the Awami National Party. He did not identify the name of the political party of the militants.

The rounded suspects were identified as Shahzad, Shakeel, Abdul Hameed and Farooq. Weapons were also recovered from their possession.
