Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), currently engaged in investigating the fake degree scandal, will now verify degrees of its own employees.
Online has learnt that the watchdog has issued notification for verification of degrees of its employees from grade 5 to grade 14.
The additional director establishment, Khizar Saleem Khokhar, has issued notification in this regard.
According to sources, approximately 700 newly-appointed employees of the agency would undergo the verification process.
The watchdog decided to verify degrees following news suggesting that degrees of employees of IBMS project were suspected.
During 2000 to 2015 around 1,500 employees were recruited in the watchdog.
Initially, FIA has asked its employees and officers to submit their original degrees so these can be verified from HEC and local universities.
