The woman was reportedly hit crossing the street and was trapped beneath the bus.

Passers-by in London came to the rescue of a woman trapped under a bus after being hit, and together lifted the front side of the vehicle to pull her out to safety.

Dramatic video of the incredible rescue shows Londoners not waiting for emergency services to arrive and instead lifting the bus themselves to save the woman's life.

According to reports in Daily Mail, the woman was reportedly 'hit crossing the street' in Old Kent Road, Bermondsey, south east London, and was trapped beneath the bus.

Footage shows the woman wriggling her legs and appears to be struggling for breath as her body is trapped under the bus.

A woman passer-by is seen calling emergency services as she removes the trapped woman's scarf off from her face to unblock her airway. Moments later, the men decide to lift the bus in a bid to free the woman and call out to other bystanders for help. Several men are seen in the video getting down on their knees and gripping the underside of the bus and successful free the woman.

London Ambulance Service confirmed the collision between a pedestrian and a bus on February 3 at around 10:00 am, while police said her injuries were not life-changing or life-threatening.

The woman is said to be in her 40s and no arrests have been made yet.
