Development linked to Karachi peace

President Mamnoon Hussain has said that an improvement the law and order situation in the country’s commercial capital Karachi was a prerequisite for economic development in Pakistan and that all parties need to play their roles to bring about a positive change in the country.

The president was talking to the media after a visit to the mausoleum of the Quaid-e-Azam, the founder of the nation, in Karachi on Sunday.He also expressed the hope that the situation in Pakistan will improve soon, as the country was already “in such a bad state that it cannot get any worse”.

Hussain also said that the people of the country needed to be patient as it will need a lot of time and effort to resolve the longstanding issued of the country, such as inflation and power shortages, and added that the prices of commodities were rising thanks to the large amount of money printed by the previous government. “It will likley to take three to four years for electricity rates to go down.”
