A 36-year-old Kenyan chef created new Guinness World Record for longest cooking when she prepared meals for 75 hours straight.
Chef Maliha Mohammad cooked 400 unique recipes, including both local and international cuisine, from August 15 to August 18 at the Kenya Bay Beach Resort in Mombasa. She broke the previous record set by Rickey Lumpkin of California, US, who cooked for 68 hours, 30 minutes, 1 second in December 2018, according to reports in Daily Nation.
Mohammad's dishes included over 10 types of pizza and her signature dish, Korean chicken Bulgogi. A self-made cook, Mohammad crafted her talent through YouTube videos and could not hold back tears of joy when she was announced a winner on Sunday. "For every 12 hours, I had a break of 30 minutes for rest. I thank God for reaching this far. I am going to rest for a very long time," Mohammad said.
Despite the fatigue and swollen legs due to standing for long hours, Mohammad prepared also cooked mandazi, biryani, chapati, coconut beans, chicken periperi, githeri, mukimo, fried fish, bacon and some juices.
