“The PPP could have changed the destiny of Pakistan if bureaucracy let them work and cooperated with the government during its term”, said Zardari while addressing a select gathering to distribute cheques of Rs300,000 each for 35,000 youths under the ‘Waseela-e-Haq Sindh Programme’.

The president, who arrived here the other day, said the politics of the PPP was not dependent on votes. “Politics is our worship. We are in politics to serve the people. The PPP will contest the elections and it is up to the electorate to vote for us or not,” he said.

Without naming anyone, Zardari said that conspiracies were being hatched against us everyday and with the grace of God we have foiled all of them and will successfully foil them in future,” he said.

Speaking on the state of country’s economic health, the president once again reiterated that Pakistan required trade not aid and revealed that the currency swap programme has been initiated with Turkey and China.

“We are also approaching other countries for currency swap programme despite the fact that the State Bank of Pakistan has been against it. Right from the first day of my presidency I talked about trade instead of aid,” said Zardari.

He said the PPP government was creating a new middle class in Sindh through WHSP as the party wants the new generation not to face hardships which we have encountered and through this scheme it would be possible for the youth to start new business ventures like dairy farming.
