Boyfriend held over actress Shilpa's death

Trivandrum - The body of the 19-year-old actress was found floating in the Karamana river in the city on Saturday night near Maruthoorkadavu Bridge.

Kerala police on Thursday arrested a youth in connection with the death of serial actress Shilpa.
The city police arrested Lijin, the actress's lover, from Katakada on the outskirts of the city. Lijin, a photographer by profession, had been missing along with the members of his family ever since the death of the actress hit the headlines.
The body of the 19-year-old actress was found floating in the Karamana river in the city on Saturday night near Maruthoorkadavu Bridge. The post-mortem report had stated that Shilpa had drowned.
However, fingers were pointed at Lijin after two of Shilpa's friends said she had a tiff with him before she went missing. Daughter of Shaji and Suma, residents of Nemom in the city. Shilpa had acted in a few TV serials and a Malayalam movie. Shilpa has also played a role in the Tamil flick Chiraku, which is still under production. She had appeared in serials such as Chandanamazha, Pranayam, Soubhagyavathi and Meghasandesham, which is yet to begin transmission.
