Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi arrested for nightclub brawl

Mumbai - Controversial actor Aditya Pancholi was arrested in the early hours of Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a bouncer at a nightclub in Juhu. He was later released on bail by a court.

According to the police, Aditya asked the DJ at the club to play some Hindi songs of his choice. But the DJ continued to play international songs, which annoyed the actor, who was allegedly drunk. Aditya then got into an argument and allegedly abused the DJ, who summoned the bouncers.

When they were trying to escort the actor out of the club, he allegedly attacked one of them on the head. The hotel then called the police, who arrested the actor and produced him before a holiday court later in the day.

The 50-year-old actor has been involved in many controversies, including rows with other actresses, with whom he had been in a relationship. He has also been accused of more serious offences by other actors. His son, Suraj was arrested in 2013 in connection with the suicide of Indian-American model and actress, Jiah Khan, with whom he had a live-in relationship. Jiah's mother Rabiya had accused Suraj of abetting the suicide. The Pancholis - including Aditya and his wife Zarina Wahab - have denied the charges and last year filed a Rs1 billion defamation suit against Khan.
