Manama - A former MP has been sentenced to one year in jail for insulting the Interior Ministry through twitter.
Former MP Khalid Abdulaal was charged by the public prosecution for publicly affronting the interior ministry on April 2014.
The cyber crimes directorate of the interior ministry filed a case against him over a number of tweets accusing the ministry of arresting innocents and maltreatment for force confessions, as well as phrases that promote sectarian sedition in Bahrain.
