Bahrain seeks monitoring of Al Manar TV
The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) has been reassigned to monitor Al Manar TV channel in light of its apology to Bahrain.
The ASBU has also been tasked to submit a semestrial report to the Arab Information Ministers’ Council in this regard.
The Arab League Information ministers, who met recently in Cairo, approved a recommendation submitted by Bahrain. Minister of State for Information Affairs and government’s spokesperson Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab said that Al Alam and Al Manar channels and Al Nour radio station were still continuing their defamatory campaign against Bahrain.
In a Press briefing, she said: “Bahrain demanded the ASBU reassignment to monitor Al Manar channel as no detailed report was submitted to the recent meeting.”
