Bahrain National child strategy

MANAMA — Bahrain is expected to finalise its national childhood strategy in the mid of February to be debated it in the United Nations in May.

“Since the last UN report about Bahrain’s children in 1999 many improvements have been made to provide better quality lives for youngsters here,” Minister of Social Development, Dr Fatima Al Baloushi, told a Press conference.

“We are keen to update matters to show our commitments for international agreements regarding children.”

The strategy was drafted after signing an agreement with UNDP and UNICEF. It deals with issues of right of education, the right of survival, the right of participation and not being discriminated and right to be protected.
