Bahrain ministry launches repair work on 40 schools

The repair work aims at enhancing the safety of the school building, improving internal environment and prolonging the life span of the structures.

The work ministry has started the maintenance of 40 government schools in Bahrain's different governorates. The building maintenance director at the ministry of works, municipalities affairs and urban planning, Huda Mirza, has said that the ministry has started the maintenance work in different stages. An agreement to this effect was signed with the ministry of education and in preparation for the next school year 2015-2016. The cost of the maintenance work is BD2,556,800. Mirza said the repair work aims at enhancing the safety of the school building, improving internal environment and prolonging the life span of the structures. The maintenance of government buildings, especially of school buildings, falls in line with the government's effort to ensure the provision of high quality services to citizens throughout the kingdom.

BBK backs move to support women in financial sector
The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), has announced BBK as the lead empowerment sponsor for the year-long campaign to celebrate the role of "women in the financial and banking sector". The campaign is being held under the patronage of Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW. As part of the planned activities, there will be a series of events including a number of roundtable and town hall sessions that will bring industry leaders and women of all levels within the sector together to discuss topics of importance.
Tamkeen, Ithmaar Bank sign key pact
As part of their joint efforts to provide financing solutions to help enterprises meet their needs and achieve their business objectives, Tamkeen and Ithmaar Bank have signed an agreement to add BD10 million to their joint enterprise finance scheme portfolio. With the signing of this agreement, the total financing offered through Tamkeen's Finance scheme in cooperation with partner banks reached BD372.5 million. More than 6,000 enterprises have benefited from the programme to date.
