Bahrain has denied mediation by US President Barack Obama in GCC’s security issues during his forthcoming visit to the region.
State Minister for Information Affairs Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab, government’s official spokesperson, told the Press on Sunday that issues relating to GCC will only be solved by the GCC countries and there is no role for foreign parties.
Obama will meet Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia to discuss security issues in the Gulf as well as bilateral relations.
Meantime, the state minister announced that a case against Bahrain at the International Labour Organisation about the sacking of Bahrainis during the unrest will be withdrawn.
She said the labour minister has left for Geneva to sign an agreement and withdraw the case from the ILO as per an accord reached in this regard.
She also highlighted the importance of the recent visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Pakistan. She said such visits aim to boost relations between Bahrain and the rest of the world.
