The company says the reason for the raid wasn’t disclosed. Two sales consultants were also detained.

Oriflame’s Chief Financial Officer Gabriel Bennet Monday said he believes Iranian authorities dislike the company’s business model of giving women the opportunity to work as direct sales consultant.

He said the company hopes to continue selling its products in Iran but that the business climate in Iran has deteriorated in recent months.

Around 40,000 women sell Oriflame’s cosmetics in Iran. In the second quarter, the company reported sales in the country of around ¤5.5 million.
