For those who have already registered and wish to cast their votes in a different wilayat, the last date for applying is August 10.

Although the election date has not been fixed yet, the ministry had earlier announced it would be held in the second half of October. The final list of 1,286 candidates, including 80 women, was published last week.

In the previous ballot in 2007, the total number of contestants was 631, of which 21 were women. “The ministry urges voters who meet the requirements to register for the election and those who want to transfer their registration from one wilayat to another to do so as early as possible and not wait for the deadlines,” the ministry said on Sunday.
