An aircraft carrying pilgrims from Saudi had smoke coming from its wheels as it landed in India's Lucknow airport on Sunday, June 15, as per reports from ANI and PTI.
The Saudi Airlines aircraft landed at Lucknow airport from Jeddah, when smoke was detected from the wheels of the plane. The Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team was immediately dispatched and rushed to the spot.
Along with the Saudi team, the ARFF was able to contain the smoke and damage to the aircraft was averted.
The passengers were deboarded safely and there was no impact on airport operations, airport officials said in a statement.

The aircraft is still currently present at Lucknow airport after the incident.

The fire comes just days after an Air India Boeing plane crashed in the city of Ahmedabad just five minutes after take off. Only one person survived in the fatal crash, with the remaining 241 passengers dead.
