India: Indigo aircraft receives bomb threat; authorities launch emergency response

Indian airline Indigo received a bomb threat on Wednesday, hours after attacks escalated between India and Pakistan, several media outlets reported.

The flight was headed from Chandigarh to Mumbai. The threat was made through a phone call at Mumbai's Sahar airport hotline.

The plane landed at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and security officials conducted a search of the aircraft. Nothing was found onboard.

The airline issued a statement after the incident. "Flight 6E 6382 operating from Chandigarh to Mumbai received a bomb threat. As per protocol, the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay, passengers disembarked safely and all standard operating procedures were followed. We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our customers. The safety of our customers is our highest priority, and we remain dedicated to ensuring a secure and smooth travel experience for all," the airline said, as per local media outlets.
