Gurugram police have unveiled details of the horrific crime, saying that they received a report regarding a young woman brought dead to the hospital with bullet injuries.
Following his arrest and during the interrogation, Deepak said that his daughter opened a tennis academy after she suffered a shoulder injury. Asked what his motive was behind the killing, he said that whenever he went to his village in Wazirabad, people used to mock him for living on his daughter's earnings, which hurt his dignity.
He added that he told his daughter to shut down the academy, but she refused, which made him angry.
Around 10 am on Thursday, Deepak fired five bullets at his daughter, and three hit her.
The accused's brother, who filed the complaint to the police, was cited by NDTV saying, "Around 10 am, I heard a loud sound and when I went to the first floor, I saw my niece (Radhika) lying in the kitchen and the gun in the drawing room. My son and I took her to Asia Maringo Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead."
"My brother used a .32 bore revolver, and it belonged to him," the victim's uncle said. The police have seized the gun used by the father, and the matter is currently under investigation.
