India: New Rs20 banknote to roll out soon, RBI says
The banknotes will be in the new Mahatma Gandhi series and will bear the signature of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India

The Reserve Bank of India has said that it will be soon issuing new Rs20 banknotes.
The new banknotes will be in the new Mahatma Gandhi series and will bear the signature of Sanjay Malhotra, the RBI Governor, the authority said in a statement on Saturday, May 17.

The authority said, "The design of these notes is similar in all respects to Rs20 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series."
The Press Release, signed by the Chief General Manager, Puneet Pancholy, said that all past denominations of the Rs20 banknote will continue to be legal tender.
