India: Flight encounters hailstorm, lands safely in Srinagar

Indian budget carrier IndiGo's flight en route from Delhi to Srinagar encountered a sudden hailstorm mid-air but landed safely, the airline confirmed on Wednesday, May 21.

Flight 6E 2142 flew into unexpected weather conditions. IndiGo stated that the crew followed standard operating procedures and ensured a safe landing at Srinagar Airport.

“Flight 6E 2142 operating from Delhi to Srinagar encountered a sudden hailstorm en route. The flight and cabin crew followed established protocol, and the aircraft landed safely in Srinagar. The airport team attended to the customers after arrival, prioritising their wellbeing and comfort. The aircraft will be released post-necessary inspection and maintenance,” the airline said in a statement.
