India sets up special control room for nationals amid growing Middle East crisis

Nearly 10 million Indians live and work across the Middle East, and their safety and well-being are top priorities, the Indian government assured

India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has set up a special control room to assist Indian nationals in the Middle East as tensions continue to escalate across the region.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, MEA said the facility has been established to respond to queries and provide assistance to Indian citizens affected by the evolving situation.

“A Control Room has been set up in the Ministry of External Affairs in view of the current situation in West Asia and the Gulf region,” the ministry said. 

The control room will operate between 9am and 9pm (IST) and can be contacted through the following numbers: 1800118797 (toll free), +91 11 2301 2113, +91 11 2301 4104, and +91 11 2301 7905.

In the UAE, Indian nationals can reach the Embassy’s emergency helpline at +971 54 3090571 (WhatsApp) or 800 46342 (toll-free) for assistance.

According to the MEA, nearly 10 million Indians live and work across West Asia, and their safety and well-being remain a top priority for the government.

The ministry said it is closely monitoring the evolving situation and remains in contact with governments in the region as well as key international partners.
