India to reopen 32 airports as ceasefire with Pakistan holds, says report

A notice to airmen (Notam) that was issued to close 32 airports in India following recent tensions with Pakistan was cancelled, CNBC-TV18 said on Monday.

The decision was taken upon instructions from Indian air force.

The list of 32 airports include Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise and Uttarlai.

The airports were closed amid heightened escalations with Pakistan since India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7.

India's Ministry of Civil Aviation said back then that “operational reasons” were behind the decision but did not provide further details.

On Saturday, the two nations agreed to a ceasefire mediated by the US to end hostilities. The truce was holding although both sides blamed each other for initial violations, as US President Donald US President Donald Trump vowed to help the two countries find a solution to the disputed Kashmir region.
