Delhi-bound Air India flight forced to return after mid-air technical issue

An Air India flight headed towards Delhi was forced to return to its origin after a technical issue mid-air, sources told ANI.

The Air India flight AI315 was en route from Hong Kong to Delhi, when the pilot suspected a technical issue.

The flight, operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, departed Hong Kong for Delhi.

The fire comes just days after an Air India Boeing plane crashed in the city of Ahmedabad just five minutes after take off. Only one person survived in the fatal crash, with the remaining 241 passengers dead.

On June 13, a day after the tragic Ahmedabad crash, an Air India flight from the Thai island of Phuket headed to Delhi requested an emergency landing after a bomb threat was received on board.

Flight AI 379 had landed and the airport proceeded with emergency plans.

Meanwhile, passengers onboard an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Jaipur were reportedly left stranded inside a grounded aircraft for over five hours without access to proper air conditioning, food, or water, triggering anger and allegations of negligence.

Flight IX-196, scheduled to depart from Dubai at 7.25pm on June 13, was unable to take off on time due to a technical snag. But instead of being allowed to deplane, more than 150 passengers were allegedly kept inside the aircraft as cabin temperatures soared.
