Police said the 35-year-old ANP leader who was a candidate for a provincial assembly seat, was shot dead in her own house in Hayatabad. It further said she had not informed the authorities about any threat to her life.

Police said the gunmen used a silenced pistol in their attack. Her husband, ANP Tehsil Nazim Hanif Jadoon was earlier killed in a suicide attack in Swabi on the second day of Eid Al Fitr in 2011.
