Good news for travellers looking to avoid hauling their baggage to the airport.
Hyderabad International Airport will be offering Carter X, a new baggage transfer service which takes bags right from your doorstep for a fee of Rs299 (Dh15).
According to a report in the Times of India, all passengers flying in and out of the Shamsabad facility can avail of this service.
Carter X can be availed with the click of a button. A firm based in Bengaluru is responsible for providing the service.
The company sends its representatives to weigh the luggage after passengers book the service through its website or app. The luggage is then packed in tamper-resistant bags and drooped at the company's counter located at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport counter.
For incoming passengers, their luggage is picked up from the airport and dropped off at the place mentioned/preferred.
The facility will be available at Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai airports within the next 10 days. Rollout at these airports is pending clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security in India.
The approval will be followed by a facility for baggage check-in for passengers.
