Abdullah meets Indian PM, other leaders

NEW DELHI - Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, on Monday met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 
New Delhi.

Shaikh Abdullah also called on the country’s Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari in the capital.

Later the UAE Foreign Minister met the National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon.

During the meetings, Shaikh Abdullah discussed a number of issues of common interest, especially ways to enhance trade and economic exchanges between the UAE and India

Shaikh Abdullah also met the Indian External Affairs Minister, S. M. Krishna. They reviewed bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.

India enjoys close and multi-faceted relations with the UAE, which is one of India’s largest trade partners.

During 2009-10, the bilateral trade touched $43 billion. Indians comprise the largest single expatriate community in UAE, says a statement issued by Indian Foreign Ministry.
