4 dead in truck-bus collision in Islamabad

Four people were killed and at least 27 others sustained injuries when a heavy truck collided with a 72-seater passenger bus near Islamabad Motorway toll plaza on Sunday.

The collision left people trapped inside the bus which was headed from Lahore to Islamabad.

The dead and the injured were taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for first-aid. Dr Ayesha of Pims confirmed that four people were killed, adding that three of the injured — including a child — are in critical condition.

Emergency was declared at the hospital and additional doctors were called in.

There were reportedly 70 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.
