Two more Emirates flights, EK203 and EK 204, to and from New York City scheduled for today were cancelled due to Hurricane Irene, following the US Airport Authority’s suspension of flights to and from New York’s John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport.

These cancellations were in addition to the four cancelled flights — EK 203, EK 204, EK201 and EK202 — on Sunday to and from JFK Airport.

Emirates said that EK201 from Dubai bound for JFK will operate with a 3.30-hour delay today. The new departure time is 12 noon (local Dubai time). EK202 from JFK to Dubai will operate as originally scheduled, departing at 11pm from NYC today.

The airline assured passengers that it is continually monitoring the situation in New York and encouraged passengers to check the flight tracker in its website which is updated every five minutes.

A spokesperson from Etihad informed Khaleej Times on Sunday that it has no plans to cancel more flights to and from New York’s JFK Airport.
