Starvation and undernourishment have reached a dangerous level in the Tharperkar desert of Sindh province in southern Pakistan, where hospital records in the province  recorded the death of 120 children, including new born and infants, during the past thirty five days. About  170 children are being treated as a result of contaminated drinking water.
According to Mitha Hospital administration, the deaths resulted from a lack of nutrition. As perWHO, 15 per cent of women and children suffer malnutrition. Details indicate that most of the residents of the villages of the provinces of Tharerkar and Omarkot face starvation and difficulty of access to food, clean water and the lack of health services and medicines.
