12 AP legislators suspended for
stalling house

Eleven legislators of the separatist Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and an independent MLA were suspended from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for a day on Friday for disrupting proceedings of the House, while four CPI MLAs and two BJP members staged a walk out in protest against their suspension.

The TRS legislators, who have been stalling the proceedings of the House since the budget session began on Tuesday, continued with their demand for a resolution to be passed by the Assembly on the separate Telangana statehood issue. When the legislators did not heed to repeated requests by Speaker N Manohar and e Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu to return to their seats, the latter moved a resolution seeking their suspension.
