Sheikh Mohammed honours winners at the World Government Summit.


International leaders, dignitaries and thought leaders gather on Tuesday morning for the last day of the World Government Summit.

More than 130 speakers across 120 interactive sessions and more than 4,000 participants from 140 countries - including heads of governments and representatives of 16 international organisations - have been confirmed to attend the event.

Highlights of Day 3

A digital court that will pronounce verdicts in under 30 days and a virtual education platform powered by Blockchain technology are among the 26 innovative initiatives that will be rolled out in Dubai in the next two years.

Special coverage: World Government Summit

The second edition of 10X Dubai launched at the World Government Summit on Tuesday will propel the city 10 years ahead of other global cities. It will see 36 government entities working together to realise the projects in different sectors: Tourism, health, education, justice, sports, charity, culture, security and energy.

After launching the initiative, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, tweeted:

"Today marks the beginning of a new phase for shaping the future in Dubai. The focus is on practical implementation of innovative ideas." A Rahhal initiative by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority would give parents the chance to provide education to their children anytime, anywhere.

?Sheikh Mohammed launches Global happiness Coalition 

??His highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched a Global Happiness Coalition.

Besides the UAE, five countries have signed up for the coalition so far: Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Portugal, and Slovenia. Minister of State for Happiness Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi said the alliance will bring about positive changes to government services globally??

Highlights of Day 2

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at his oratory best as he delivered two speeches in Dubai of his second UAE visit. Modi, touched on many points during his inaugural speech, including the use of technology, India's achievements in the space industry and renewable energy.

During his speech at the Dubai Opera, he urged the 3.3-million strong Indian community in the UAE to respect the ideals of their host country.

During a late afternoon session on the first day of the World Government Summit, Lt-Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced the launch of the global inspiration platform 'Zayed, The Inspirer' as a database of inspirational stories from all over the world. ?

The UAE has also launched a climate project to aid people displaced by natural disasters and reduce climate change risks around the world. The two-year initiative will deliver climate initiatives and products that will serve 10 million people worldwide by 2020.
