Here's our guide to spend your off days.

Art attack

It's the last day of Dubai's first street art festival. Starting today from 2pm onwards, this pop-up exhibition will be held at the Rove Dubai Marina and feature the likes of famous street artists, such as Pure Evil, Stainz and Cholo Juan. Buy an art piece or grab a spray can to have a go yourself at Urban Art DXB. Entrance is free but be sure to register in advance at www.rovehotels.com/rove-blog/urban-art-dxb.

Join the celebrations

This 48th National Day weekend, it does not matter where you are in the city, you will be able to see fireworks from half a dozen places. You can get closer to the action and watch colourful fireworks light up the night sky at Al Seef (8pm), La Mer (8.30pm) and The Beach at JBR (9pm) on December 1 and 2, with the special addition of two more venues: The Pointe (8pm) and Global Village (9pm).

Walk for the determined

Spend your Friday walking for charity at Dubai Autodrome on November 29. Tickets cost Dh50 (free for those under 11) and all proceeds will be given to Al Jalila Foundation for medical research, education and treatment for people of determination. The 2.5 km walk starts at 7am. For more information, call 04-3210008.

A night of Bollywood

On December 2, drive down to Bollywood Parks for a chance to catch Indian reality show judge Armaan Malik and his brother, composer and singer Amaal. Get there by 2pm and you might catch them singing their famous songs, 'Ghar Se Nikalte Hi' and 'Chale Aana'. Tickets can be snapped up for Dh89. Call 04-8200000 for more.

Fun for all

Learning is about to get a whole lot fun, thanks to the Young Minds Carnival taking place at Creek Park on December 6. The free edutainment winter camp has lots planned to keep kids busy this winter break - from a mathemagician's workshop to building robots and watching live Rubik's cube demos. Discounts, giveaways and raffle draws will be up for grabs too.
