Arts can connect us like no other medium, a fact that a lot of us are acknowledging and feeling grateful for during these times. Another testament to the same is the Instagram handle, @artsofcoviddays, with more than 1,000 artworks in its kitty. The handle was starting during the inception of the lockdown caused by the world pandemic. "We started it on March 23, with the sole motive of bringing artists together," says Shaji Narayan, an Indian artist from Kerala, currently residing in Dubai. His friend Blessin Thottumkal joined him to help in the uploading of the works.

"It's our contribution towards paving the way for the artists around the globe to connect and communicate through art, under one roof," says Blessin, an IT professional based out of Cochin, India.

The handle so far has received art contributions across genres, including music covers, dance performances, cookery, paintings, crafts, and more. "It just goes to prove that art is above linguistic and geographical barriers," adds Shaji, who is using the quarantine time to make portraits, paintings, and charcoal sketches. The contributions have been pouring from various artists worldwide including countries like India, France, Egypt, Italy, UAE, and Japan.
"Many followers have acknowledged that the platform has helped them widen their perspective and improve their work. We're all hoping for better days ahead, and that the artists continue to stay connected and inspire," signs of Shaji.
