This Ramadan, Mall of the Emirates, in collaboration with Asateer Events, is displaying a special photo exhibition in the Luxury Wing. Titled Art from the Heart, the exhibition will showcase photography from 12 people of determination, aged 18-25 years. In this way, the project is a step towards helping them get creative and hone their talent in photography. The gallery of photos features the architecture and décor of the mall during Ramadan and is free for all to view until June 16.
A voice for all sizes
On June 10, from 7pm-10pm, ASLI Studios will be hosting an iftar with a special theme called '+Sized'. A panel of experts - including dietician Hala Barghout, plus-sized model Aseya Atiq and blogger Shukriya, among others - will be present. Highlighted topics will include 'Fat versus Fit', 'What is +Size?' and 'How to train during Ramadan?'. If you're looking for a good conversation with your meal, this is the place to go. The event is free for all, but RSVP to Stavros.antypas@osn.com, if you're interested in attending.
A day of wellness
Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, is celebrating Global Wellness Day on June 9 with a number of free activities that are open to all. There will be a 60-minute Chi Gong session where participants can learn about the ancient Chinese martial art that focuses on breathing, meditation and coordinated body postures. There will also be a breakfast buffet, complimentary pool and beach access, and free check-ups for diabetes and other diseases at CHI, The Spa (9am-4pm). For more info, call 02-5098888.
Health is a click away
Newly-launched Health at Hand is an app that connects patients with doctors via video consultation. The app is fully-licensed and DHA-regulated. After the call, a doctor's report will be available, detailing recommendations including suggestions to see a doctor at a local clinic, if needed. The app is available on both Google Play and Apple Store. For more info, visit www.myhealthathand.com.
