I've been reading your column for a while now and found some remedies to be really effective. My problem is with my hair - I recently coloured it and it has been dry and frizzy ever since. Please suggest a quick and easy home remedy that will make my hair shiny and smooth, and also help to maintain the colour.

Beat an egg yolk and add one teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of lime juice to it. Apply this onto the hair and allow to dry. Rinse with a mild shampoo, followed by a final rinse with a tumbler of water that has one teaspoon of lime juice added to it. This treatment will make your hair shiny and help to retain the colour for longer.
I am a 17-year-old girl. I have a lot of hair on my upper lip and that region is darker than the rest of my face. Please suggest a remedy for the same.

Take 1 tsp cornflour and add enough honey to make a creamy mask. Add two drops of lime juice to this mixture and apply it on the face. Leave for five minutes, then gently scrub against the hair growth. Finish the treatment with a cold water rinse. Do this three times a week for best results.
I am a 19-year-old boy and I have stretch marks. They look really bad on me. Can you please help me get rid of this problem with the help of an effective home remedy?
- Manu
Stretch marks are hard to get rid of. Take two tablespoons of coconut milk and add a pinch of coffee to it. Massage this onto the skin and rinse after 30 minutes. Moreover, massage Vitamin E oil or coconut oil onto the stretch marks and leave overnight. These should help you with your problem.
A little while ago, I mentioned that dandruff had spread through my hair and you recommended a last rinse (while showering) to be mixed with baking soda. I did that for a few weeks and saw good results. But after I stopped, the dandruff returned again. How long do I have to do this?

Dandruff usually occurs due to a faulty diet, lack of sufficient water intake or even due to improper shampooing. Do the treatment with baking soda until the dandruff clears, but it is important to find the root of the problem to ensure that the dandruff does not return.
I recently bought an aloe vera plant. Can you tell me the different ways I can use it for natural remedies?
- Shwetha
Aloe vera is an extremely versatile plant. It can be used to cleanse the skin, scalp and body. You can eat one tablespoon raw or add it to fresh green juice, daily. Massaging it into the scalp arrests hair fall, dandruff and calms and conditions hair, while applying it to the face or body oxygenates the skin. It's a good move to bring it into your home!
