'In life, you are your most important cheerleader'
Talking life and aspirations with Samar Habayeb, Founder and CEO, Silsal Design House
What is the number one item on your wish list?
Time - it's the most precious thing!
One life lesson you want to share.
I've learnt how important it is to be nimble, to learn quickly and constantly adjust and adapt.
The biggest learning point or experience in your life.
At one point, I experienced severe medical depression. It was one of the most testing times of my life, but it taught me a lot and changed me in ways I could never have imagined - it was truly a double-edged sword.
What advice would you give your younger self, if you could?
Be ruthless with your energy and time. Value how, where and with whom you spend them. Also, be kinder to yourself. Celebrate every achievement, big or small. In life, you are your best and most important cheerleader.
If you could move to any country in the world, what would it be?
This is exactly where I want to be, so I wouldn't move. My family, my business and I are all in a really happy place and I wouldn't change anything about our journey or where we are today.
Favourite fictional character of all time - and why.
It has to be Elizabeth Bennett. Every word that comes out of her mouth brims with wit and courage. She speaks the truth and, in doing so, changes not only her world, but the future. She's a true heroine.
The best thing you've ever bought yourself and why?
A painting by Danielle O'Connor Akiyama. It conjures up so many wonderful emotions when I look at it, and it never gets old.
A superpower you wish you had?
The ability to stop time!
If you were head of your country, what is the first thing you'd do?
Work on establishing equality in all its forms.
