Many students wade through waist-deep water to head to neighbour's house for online classes
Say hello to the JVC HD Everio GZ-EX255 camcorder.
It’s obviously what it is, but here’s what I guarantee you: this diminutive baby is loaded. If we talked about all the specs right now, we’d probably take up the rest of this magazine.
So to summarise, the JVC HD Everio GZ-EX255 is a Wi-Fi-equipped, full HD memory camcorder, with 16GB of internal memory, a back-illuminated CMOS sensor for super low-light performance, a three-inch touchscreen, powerful optical 40x zoom and an advanced image stabiliser. Believe me, we’re not even a tenth through everything.
The key feature of this darling is its Wi-Fi capabilities.
Using a trusty downloadable app for the iOS and Android, you can do any of the following: direct monitoring, where you can check the image via a direct one-to-one connection with a smartphone or PC without the need for an access point; outside monitoring, where you can check the image with a smartphone or PC through an access point at home using a wireless LAN router; notification mail, where a still image can be captured and sent via email when faces or movements are detected by the camera; and video mail, where an up-to-15-second video can be recorded and sent by email again.
Whew.
In short, you can actually control the camcorder from your phone or PC. Remotely. Be reminded, though, that our friends at JVC have explicitly mentioned that this camcorder is not for security purposes, and as from us here at HD, it is not for foolishness either.
As we always say, use responsibly, folks.
We just love technology and what it brings to us, so using it with full knowledge is the best way to maximise its potential.
