I have always worked hard to attain everything I have and I am incredibly grateful for that. That being said, I do love a good candle!
The biggest learning point or experience in your life.
No matter how big or small, I've learnt to let go of the things that don't belong in my life anymore - be it friends, feelings or possessions. They were needed at a certain time but no longer fit into my world as it is now. Having the courage to accept that has been a powerful lesson.
If you won a million bucks tomorrow, what would you do with the money?
I would build an Italian-style venue here in the UAE with imposing stone archways that I could dress with cascading floral arrangements. I would include Juliet balconies overlooking a grand open-roofed dining area and bring an exquisitely elegant and rustic palace under the stars of Dubai for clients who want an unusual choice of wedding venue. I would then take my husband on the honeymoon I've promised for almost a year (but haven't managed because the startup wouldn't have allowed me to take off for two whole weeks). I would invest the rest of the money into my sister-in-law's start up, Fertile Matters UK, an organisation close to my heart.
What advice would you give your younger self, if you could?
It gets better - I promise. They're going to come out with magical hair products so you won't look like a tumble-dried poodle for much longer. Don't cry over boys who don't treat you like you're magic. When you least expect it, your 'one' will make his way into your heart. You're going to marry this man of your dreams but, sadly, dad won't be able to meet Stephen. He will be busy aligning the stars to make sure you two get together. He isn't going to walk you down the aisle but you'll feel him there every second of your wedding. And most importantly, you grow up to become a much-loved lady. I am very proud of who you will become.
The most interesting app you've come across.
I spend most of my bath time on either Instagram or Ted Talks, so I am a loyal Ted app fan. I love the 'surprise me' function. I choose a category ranging from courageous or ingenious to jaw-dropping, then I tell 'Ted' how many minutes I have to spare (which ranges from five to 20 minutes depending on how hot the water still is). I then proceed to discover the weird and the wonderful this Earth has to offer.
Your greatest fear.
My greatest fear is for my husband to die before me. I've even made him sign a napkin promising he won't. Though I cannot bear the thought of a day without him, as my father used to say, 'love is wanting to kill your other half but not actually doing so for fear of missing them'... So I go first. That's the deal.
If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day, who would it be and why?
I would trade lives with Karma - she's admirably 'fair'. I would certainly be busy that day!
Favourite fictional character of all time - and why.
I am a closet unicorn! My friends, business partners and clients cannot walk past any unicorn-related paraphernalia without either sending me a picture (eliciting ultimate joy) or buying a unicorn-related trinket (which makes my soul even happier). When I think of unicorns with their rainbow zen, I see extraordinary possibilities, glittery happiness, childish innocence, the exquisite, the rare and the desirable. Apparently, they're fictional but I believe they exist. I am, after all, living proof.
If you could have your pick of superpowers, what would you choose?
The most incredible superpower would be to be able to cure illnesses.
