One big trend this autumn/winter is animal print. From leopard, zebra to tiger, all the fashion houses are loving this print. I would personally choose a leopard print dress and style it with a leather jacket. As we all know, leather jackets are one of the key pieces for autumn/winter and it is very easy to wear them in the UAE climate as well.
Speaking of jackets, I must mention the tweed jacket. Tweed is one of my favourite materials. It is so classy as well as feminine that it elevates every outfit. You can wear tweed jackets with trousers, dresses or as a set with a matching skirt (which is one of my preferred ways to wear it).
Once the temperature drops in Dubai, I am excited to exchange my sandals for boots. From ankle boots to over-the-knee boots, you can wear them with dresses, skirts, shorts or long trousers. My favourite way is to combine a summer boho dress with tights over knee-length boots.
If your style is more casual, sneakers are the way to go. Wearing them with an over-sized cashmere or wool jumper and leather skirt will definitely make the perfect outfit for a relaxed weekend out with friends.
When it comes to accessories, scarfs are pieces we need all year round, but I find myself reaching for them mostly in autumn and winter. I personally love to wear a simple outfit with a statement scarf that can make my outfit stand out.
As a conclusion, even though we are blessed with sunshine all year, we are not limited to summer clothes only. We can easily keep up with the trends and incorporate autumn and winter pieces in our wardrobes - so happy shopping!

For starters, checks, checks, checks! There were geometrical prints all over the catwalks for A/W18 and you will definitely be seeing me 'check in' this season. There are a lot of check coats on the runway but since that's not going to work for the climate we live in, we can take inspiration from these trends and switch it up to work for us. For example, how about adapting the look by wearing a check blazer or a check skirt or trousers? Also, don't be afraid to double up, I am living for co-ords right now, especially in checks. Mainly so I can pretend I am straight out of the movie Clueless and get away with it all in the name of fashion!
This method of transferring the big fashion trends to different pieces to fit our climate can work for any of the season's trends, whether it is checks, animal prints, leather or tweed. I also find layering super important. Although we live in a hot climate, you never know what temperature you are going to face - it could be 40 degrees outside but 15 degrees inside with the AC on. Wearing layers we can add or remove allows us to ensure we can regulate our temperature, even if it's constantly changing. This also works alongside another big trend this A/W which is dressing modestly. This is a focus on covering up and wearing various layers, which was a big hit on the runway and works perfectly for our region. We can layer and cover up - and by using lighter materials we can stay on trend while still making sure we don't overheat!
