Curb your hair fall

I’m 23 years old and hoping you can give me a solution for my hair fall. Last year, I had a period of terrible hair loss (from stress) that stopped shortly after my exams. It left my hair short and dry, and I’ve been trying to grow my hair again ever since. Every time it gets to a certain length, however, it starts to fall again, forcing me to revert to a short haircut. This has happened twice in the past year. My water intake and diet is normal and I use a mask of eggs and coffee on my hair every week. Please help me with a remedy to grow my hair, so that it’s long and thick, soft and strong again.

Warm some almond or coconut oil and add a teaspoon of castor oil to it. Massage the oil mixture into your scalp and follow by steaming your hair. Do this three times a week for best results. Also, your diet should contain a healthy mix of nuts, eggs, fish, fresh fruits, green vegetables and cereals. Add yoga to your exercise routine, as this will improve your circulation and help promote strong hair growth.

I’m a 13-year-old girl with very dry skin and lips. Could you please suggest a remedy for me?

— Anagha

Coconut cream is one of nature’s best remedies for dry skin and lips. To get the best out of the moisturising treatment, apply some coconut cream on your skin and lips and leave it on for at least an hour. You can also apply it as a mask and leave it on overnight.

My hair is very dry, frizzy and split at the ends. I also have bad hair fall, which makes me want to consider hair botox. Is this harmful, and, if so, could you please suggest an alternative, natural remedy for my hair? Some of my other issues include dark circles, body odour and dark inner thighs. I believe your remedies work, so could you please suggest some home remedies that could work for me?

— Becky

I believe in natural home remedies, so I would advise against hair botox. Instead, blend one ripe banana with a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of castor oil. Apply this creamy mixture on your hair, rinse and follow with shampoo. Repeat this three times a week for best results. For your dark circles, rest a couple of potato slices on your eyes for a few minutes everyday. Body odour can be dealt with by adding a few drops of sandalwood oil to your bath water before your final rinse. You can also sprinkle some sandalwood powder on your body after you shower. For the dark inner thighs, apply coconut oil every day and leave it on overnight.

I am 27 years old and a mother of three small children. A few days ago, I noticed that I’ve started to look aged, while my skin has dulled and looks tired. I have also started getting pigmentation marks on my face, and have oily skin and dark circles (probably from lack of sleep). Honestly, I hardly get time for myself because of my kids. Please suggest some easy home remedies that could help me get rid of my problems and give me glowing skin.

Mix enough strawberry purée with a little corn flour and a teaspoon of honey to form a creamy paste. Apply this regularly to your face and leave to dry. Moisten with a little chilled water and scrub off. This will add a nice glow to your skin and also help make it look young and bright again.

I have a lot of pimples on my face as well as the bad habit of popping them. As a result, I have many spots and scars on my face and would like a home remedy to get rid of them. Could you please help?

Papaya is an excellent treatment to cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Massage a piece of papaya on your face and, after 20 minutes, rinse with cold water. Do this everyday to improve your complexion.
