The human race (that's us - you, me and the rest of the folks) is living far longer than we ever have, thanks to medical advancements. So, yes, even though we hear of certain "life diseases" claiming lives before time, we should be thankful to science that "staying alive" has never been easier. Yet, we want to live longer. Average (global) life expectancy is around 71 years - but how long can we actually live? Valter Longo has been researching this for the past 30 years, and he's come out with a book called The Longevity Diet, that puts forward we can live beyond 100 (and what's more, not even look our age!). All you need are some tweaks and adjustments to diet and lifestyle. In an interview with WKND, the Italian-American biogerontologist and cell biologist gives us a few peeks and insights into the findings he's come up with. How difficult is it to adhere to this routine? I was assuming it'll be tough; there has to be a punishing price to pay in order to outlive mortality trends. Turns out, that's not the case. It's basically knowing what is good for your body - and what is not - and enjoying being mindful. In case you want to subscribe to the centenarians' club already, be sure to read our interview and get your hands on the book!
Our cover girl Radhika Apte has been making waves with her new release PadMan. I'd watched Radhika in a film called Antaheen - where she was attention-grabbing from the word 'go'. Later, I saw her in Hunterrr and Ahalya, and in a cameo in Badlapur. What strikes you about her - other than her astounding talent - is how she's always lived life on her own terms... which is something easier said than done when working within the rigid parameters of a film industry. In other offerings, we get some amazing vistas of the UAE captured by 'Insta-photographers'. If you are a fan of Fidel Castro, Cuban cigars and salsa beats, then Havana is where you should be headed for: get a feel of the city through our Travel pages. Bollywood lists the industry's top cover girls, over the years - from Madhubala and Nargis to Sonam Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. What is it that makes quinoa such a superfood? Find out in Fit & Fab. Asymmetrical styles rule the runway on our Fashion pages. All this and much more.

Enjoy reading WKND and have a great weekend.
