I am a 14-year-old living in the UAE. As a result of all the pimples I've had over the past year, I've started getting black scars and it is really embarrassing. Please suggest an easy, yet quick remedy to remove them.

Rub raw potato purée on the face, especially on the spots with scars. Leave on for an hour and, after wetting your face, gently scrub your skin with a little almond powder, like you would with soap. Do this every day to see the difference.

I have been on a keto diet for four months. During this time, l experienced a lot of hair fall; I'd say I've lost almost lost 60 per cent of my hair. I have already tried keratin and biotin tablets, but nothing is showing positive results. Please recommend some remedies to stop this hair loss.

Steaming your hair every day, followed by a head massage with your finger pads (done by lifting the scalp and giving it circular movements), will aid hair growth. Twice a week, use warm mustard oil and follow by wrapping your hair in a steamed towel. Do this twice a week for good results.

There is a patch below my eyes on my cheek. Please advise whether I should apply vitamin E oil or vitamin E capsule. Likewise, what should I apply for hair loss. Would aloe vera gel with castor oil and vitamin E oil work, or should I apply vitamin E capsules there too? Thank you for your informative column.

Using vitamin E capsules will work better to clear the mark on your cheek. Once you burst the capsules, you can use a drop for the patch and store the rest in a small jar for use the next day. The treatment you mentioned for hair loss is great: mix 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel with ½ teaspoon castor oil and 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil. Massage into scalp and leave on for some time before shampooing off.

I am a 17-year-old boy and am having very bad hair fall due to dandruff and genetic reasons. Parts of my scalp have started to become visible, especially the crown area, and the remaining hair has become very thin. Is it possible to regrow hair in the areas where my scalp has become visible and prevent further hair fall naturally?

Drink 1.5-2 litres of water daily to calm stress levels and maintain body temperature. Your diet should be nourishing. Add egg white omelette, spinach, tomatoes and onions to your daily diet, together with green, leafy vegetables, fish, nuts, lean meat and fruits. Massage onion juice into your hair; after 20 minutes, take a few drops of castor oil and gently massage it on the areas with scanty hair growth. Leave on overnight if you can; else shampoo off after an hour or two. Give it a couple of months and you will see the difference.
