Marking a milestone: The 10th anniversary celebrations at Sky Jewellery’s Muscat showroom were inaugurated by South Indian film actress Honey Rose and Sky Jewellery chairman Sri Babu John (centre)
Golden Moments
Going for gold in the region is leading jewellery retailer Sky Jewellery, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary of operations in Muscat, Oman. The Muscat showroom in Ruwi saw a grand celebration, the highlight of which was the presence of South Indian actress Honey Rose, who cut a cake to mark the anniversary, in the presence of the brand’s chairman Sri Sabu John.
The jewellery house, which has outlets across the UAE, Qatar, Muscat and India, offers 24K gold bars, 24K and 18K gold and jewellery, diamond jewellery, certified diamonds, and gold coins, among other products. Skyze, their exclusive boutique division for diamond jewellery, is also present at Burjuman Centre, Dubai Mall, and Meena Bazaar in Dubai.
In the past, the popular retailer has also won the Masala! Awards for Best Jeweller of the Year and the DSF Customer Choice Award, marking their excellence in the field.
As quirky as they come
Foodies in the city are always looking for the next hot trend in the F&B sector — and rightly so, because they never have to wait long. Check out the latest: BookMunch, in Wasl Square, is offering a summer promotion that is sure to lure you right in.
It’s a pay-as-you-go special that will provide guests with unlimited food and drink (no jokes!), at a fee of Dh1 for each minute enjoyed within the grounds of the café. Apparently, it’s a global trend called ‘Ziferblat’ (meaning, clock face in Russian) that started in Moscow in 2011. London opened their first such store last year, so it was only a matter of time before it hit Dubai.
The special comes with a minimum stay of 15 minutes and caps off at 180 minutes, where customers can enjoy a wide variety of dishes, such as their signature chilli beef noodles, jerk chicken and chicken avocado salad.
Bringing fashion home
Valleydez
Style mavens Valleydez are now making it even easier for you to wear the latest celebrity looks and sport the hottest trends by bringing them straight to your home — in a ‘fashion wagon’.
Try on your favourites, accessorise from the extensive range they bring with them, get expert advice from their stylists — all without leaving the comfort and privacy of your own house.
This is not a delivery service, as they are at pains to explain. It is “home shopping taken to a whole new level”. So, shop alone or invite a few friends over to enjoy the experience with you. Either way, it’s going to be a real party.

An educational affair
This Ramadan, the Dubai Mall will be hosting Afghan master weavers at The Souk Atrium, in support of an initiative by Her Highness Fatema Bint Mohammed Bin Zayed. The weavers will spin wool and design magnificent carpets, display a creative handmade carpets collection and share the basic techniques of carpet-weaving with visitors.
The initiative is being held in partnership with Tanweer Investments based in Afghanistan, which aims to empower women to drive sustainable development. It provides women with job opportunities in carpet production, and also offers their families critical social services, including health care and education.

Lipsy London gets new face
Lipsy London gets new face
You may have seen her on MBC’s Entertainment Tonight (ET) Arabia, but now you’ll see her as the new face of the Lipsy London Ramadan and High Summer Collection that launched across the UAE this month.
Breakout star Mariam Said was reportedly chosen as the new ambassador for her “glamorous persona, balancing a successful career in entertainment and carving out a niche as an influencer in the Arab World”. In other words, this is one woman to watch out for.
The collection itself, shot against a backdrop oozing opulent splendour at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, revolves around lush fabrics with intricate and embellished details that cater to the “fashion forward Lipsy girl”.
A healthy break

For the health freaks among you, Afyä at Traders Hotel, Abu Dhabi, is hosting an alternative Iftar during the Holy Month.
From 8pm until midnight, the four-star hotel will be serving up a variety of organic dishes in their signature restaurant Afyä (which, incidentally, means health in Arabic).
Starting at Dh140++ per person (and with a 25 per cent discount for groups of four), the menu is specially designed to include those dishes that can be prepared using organic ingredients. Guests can expect fresh local burrata and halloumi kataifi, tabbouleh and grilled vegetables, and organic rack of lamb with couscous, as well as organic flat breads, wild arugula and a selection of local and seasonal fruits for dessert.
