The warning came after the two vehicle pile-ups on the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain highway on Thursday morning due to dense fog in which 14 people were injured.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) advised people not to go out into the sea and asked motorists to take precautions while driving due to the poor visibility caused by blowing dust/sand. It also warned motorists to take precautions while on the roads and avoid valleys during rainfall in the coming days.

Forecasters said the weather is expected to be unstable, partly cloudy to cloudy and dusty at times over some areas today. There are chances of light showers during evening and night. Light to strong winds, causing dust and sand to blow will reduce horizontal visibility at times.

Unstable weather will persist over the country tomorrow and it will be partly cloudy to cloudy in general over most areas. The cloud cover will continue to increase over areas, with thunder at times over areas receiving showers.

Temperatures are also expected to dip during daytime.

Moderate to fresh winds, strong at times, will kick up sand and may reduce horizontal visibility at times in open areas.

The sea will continue to be rough on Monday, and the weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy, with a probability of some rain, especially in the northern and eastern areas. Clouds will decrease gradually by afternoon.
