Some areas of the UAE experienced dense fog on Tuesday morning, affecting horizontal visibility.
The National Centre of Meteorology alerted on its social media that the fog in some Northern and Eastern areas of the country is likely to reduce visibility till 9am.
The Abu Dhabi Police have warned motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility during the fog. The police also announced that maximum speed limit on Abu Dhabi - Al Ain road (Sweihan - Al Hiyar) and Al Ain - Dubai road (Al Ain - Al Faqa) has been reduced to 80kmph.
The police, on Twitter, urged drivers to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
Sweihaan and Al Ain areas in Abu Dhabi, Al Lisaili in Dubai, and Al Bataeah, Khor Fakkan Road, Maleha Road, Al Madam Road and Akhaider area in Sharjah experienced dense fog in the morning, according to the centre.
In its forecast, the centre predicted fair to partly cloudy weather on Tuesday. It will be humid by night and Wednesday morning with a chance of fog and mist formation over some coastal and internal areas. Maximum temperature in internal areas would go p to 27 degree Celsius.
