A cadastral stations system improvement and development project has been launched in Abu Dhabi that will offer services to over 220 engineering companies and government institutions.
The system will support survey engineers in three municipalities in the Capital: Abu Dhabi City, Western Region and Al Ain City. It will contribute to calculating the amount and direction of crustal movements in Abu Dhabi and linking them to the seismic activity study in the region.
Musabbah Mubarak Al Murar, acting general manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, said: "The system also provides fast, accurate and advanced services to overcome all previous problems resulting from dissimilarities in cadastral readings.
It also provides a multi-faceted package of geographic information which provides a clear and well-rehearsed environment for decision-makers and contributes to supporting the overall planning strategic vision."
The municipality is also planning to relocate some stations, having observed "recent repercussions impacting the neighbouring buildings".
