The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology, (NCMS) has warned the public against going to the sea in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman during the next four days due to unstable weather.

The NCMS has also advised drivers to take caution while driving due to the poor visibility caused by the blowing dust/sand. “Drivers should avoid places associated with flash floods and flooded valleys during this time,” the centre said in its weather forecast for the next four days.

Starting from today, the weather will be partly cloudy and dusty. Coastal areas, islands and the northern areas will be more cloudy.

Further cloud development will occur during night. Wind speeds will be moderate and fresh at times and the sea will be rough in general.

Saturday and Sunday will also see unstable weather. It will be cloudy in general which will increase especially over the northern and coastal areas resulting in rainfall and a significant fall in daytime temperatures. Moderate to fresh winds will become strong at times causing dust to blow thus reducing horizontal visibility. The sea will be rough on these days, too.

On Monday, the weather will be partly cloudy with a probability of rain especially over the northern and eastern areas during daytime. Skies will start clearing gradually by afternoon. There will be a light fall in temperature and moderate north-westerly winds will blow at night. The sea will start becoming calm by evening.
