Sahem For Hope - a UAE based community initiative enables food access to the ones affected by the pandemic. The group, inspired by the Arabic word for contributing started 3 months back with a purpose to provide food supplies to those whose lives were severely disrupted by the outbreak of Covid-19. From its very humble beginnings where they were distributing food essentials to 50 recipients a week, they have now grown to 500 beneficiaries a week. Launched by a small group of friends who all come from the same media background. Many other friends joined the initiative to form a core working group and in just over 3 months, the team has given food to over a 3000 people in the UAE. (Story by Zubina Ahmed)
