What began as a small WhatsApp group created in frustration has quickly evolved into one of the UAE’s most inclusive motorcycling communities, offering riders far more than shared road trips and weekend rides.

World of Bikers (WOB), founded in April 2025 by long-time UAE resident and veteran rider Victor King, has grown from just a handful of riders into a community of nearly 400 members across the UAE and beyond. While the group brings together bikers from different clubs, brands and backgrounds, its core mission is simple: support, safety and solidarity.

Victor, who has lived in the UAE for 26 years and clocked close to 700,000 kilometres riding across multiple countries, said the idea for WOB was born after witnessing behaviour during a group ride that he felt crossed a line.

When concerns were raised about a female rider being spoken to inappropriately were dismissed and members were removed from a community group, he decided to take action. “If there is a problem, you fix it,” he said. “That was the moment World of Bikers was born.”

Community feels

Within hours, Victor reached out to riders he trusted and created a new group built around the principle of 'SAIL Together' – support, advise, inspire and learn from each other.

Today, WOB includes solo riders, members of motorcycle clubs and riding groups from the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia and the US. Rather than competing with existing clubs, the platform acts as a unifying layer, allowing riders to connect regardless of brand or affiliation.

The community-driven approach is reflected in how the group operates. Rules and guidelines were created through member input, ensuring that the culture of respect and inclusivity is shaped by riders themselves.

Going beyond

While group rides remain a major draw, WOB functions as much more than a riding collective. Members share real-time road safety updates, weather alerts, mechanical advice, and travel information. More importantly, they show up for one another during times of crisis.

Earlier this year, when a young rider was involved in a fatal accident, members of World of Bikers came together to support the grieving family. Riders assisted with hospital coordination, administrative procedures, insurance guidance, and legal processes, offering help at a time when the family needed it most.

“That moment showed what this community truly stands for,” Victor said. “People came together instinctively.”

Technology

WOB recently launched its own mobile app to bring member chats, ride planning, and safety features into one space. On it, riders can discover nearby rides, share experiences, and connect with others within a certain radius. The app also supports long-distance riders with a digital certification, a process that was once manual and time-consuming. The certificate, which tests a rider’s endurance, is more a self-accolade that a biker wears on their jacket than anything else.

“The process to get certification is very tedious,” said Victor, explaining how he and 43 other riders had to document their every stop when they did a ride last year. “At the starting point, and each point that we stop to refuel after that — which is normally around 150 kilometers on an average — each rider must submit at least two or three pieces of documentation. So that's 12 pieces of documentation for 800 kilometers per rider multiplied by 44 which the ambassador has to manually go through.”

By automating the process, WOB app is cutting down the time taken to issue the certificates from months to just days or hours. “Every rider will document everything on the app, which uses AI to compile it,” he said. “This makes it easy for ambassadors to look at it, verify it, and approve the ride.”

Membership in World of Bikers remains free and open to licensed riders who ride as a hobby, reinforcing its inclusive ethos. While commercial features may be introduced in future, the focus remains firmly on the community.
