Women's Day 2025: UAE leaders thank women for their sacrifices, 'pivotal impact'

UAE leaders have expressed their gratitude on Saturday for the role women, both in the country and abroad, play in their societies, marking International Women's Day.

President Sheikh Mohamed thanked women around the world for their 'pivotal impact and achievements in all fields'.

In a tweet to mark International Women's Day, he said: "We celebrate the contributions of all women in fostering lasting progress and development to uplift society."

Celebrated annually on March 8, International Women's Day is a global occasion to honour the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women in all spheres of life.

"To women in the UAE and around the world, we express our sincere gratitude as you continue to inspire future generations through your pivotal impact and achievements in all fields," Sheikh Mohamed added.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai also took to X to celebrate the occasion, saying: "On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the generosity of women, their strength, sacrifices, and contributions to building societies and nations."

"Women are the essence of life, its story, and its soul. They are the nurturers of generations and the makers of heroes," he added.

Sheikh Mansour, UAE Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court also said: "We extend our salute to every woman in the UAE and around the world who contributes through her efforts and dedication to building a better future for her nation.

"The UAE stands as a model in empowering women and providing them with all the resources needed to achieve their ambitions and serve their country in every field," he added.

The UAE celebrates Emirati Women's Day, celebrating the female citizens of the country and their contributions to society, is marked every year on August 28.
